Now, more than ever, companies are seeking ways to rethink, restructure, and relaunch. In Massachusetts, some companies are catapulting miles ahead of the competition with game-changing products and services. How? Design. Designers are experts trained to bring out the best of a service, place or product. And good design is a win-win: design is a plan to make life better, and it makes business stronger.
Massachusetts is rich with industries to prove this, including technology, tourism, life sciences, entertainment, retail, finance, consumer goods and manufacturing.
The October 7, 2010 Design Means Business conference was a forum to introduce and share case studies of the positive impact good design is having on Massachusetts businesses. In conjunction with the keynote presentations, DIGMA and Design Museum Boston collaborated on a one-day exhibit highlighting those case studies. Through images, artifacts, facts, and figures the exhibit displayed the bottom-line and real-life improvements design thinking can make.
