What’s your responsibility?

Design Museum Boston has teamed up with design students at Wentworth Institute of Technology to create an impact this summer. The exhibit, Retail: Retell. Recycle. Rethink educates consumers about the products they buy. Retail leaves consumers understanding that they are buying more than a water bottle or a t-shirt, they are buying the process behind these products and accepting their responsibility within the product lifecycle.

The product lifecycle is the entire process, past, present, and future, behind the things we use; from conception, through design and manufacture, to service, disposal, or recycling. The goal of Retail is to create a new understanding of products and provide a skill set for consumers to make educated decisions on future purchases.

Retail is the first exhibit launched through our STUDIO program. It is conceived, created, and executed by design students at Wentworth Institute of Technology. Help them make it a reality by backing them on Kickstarter. Follow their progress on our blog.
